You get what you pay for.In reading many of the binder reviews, what they say is the binder spines were cracked at the seam. If the manufacturers would add spacers to the 4" D ring binders to keep the outer edges as wide the spine, it is highly likely this would not happen. Lacking a spacer, the front and back panels are coming together because the binders are empty. Factor in non-bendable metal D rings and what do you think is going to give way? The seam. If someone is trying to save packing costs by shipping these the same way they ship non-D ring binders, they are going to waste a lot of money in the process.I needed this binder for a project and ordered it 2 day delivery from Amazon Prime. The item arrived a week late and one of the three rings is slightly off and doesn't close properly. I've tried to adjust it with tools but it won't budge.Somebody needs to come-up with something better!I bought this on-line from a big office supplies store starting with s. Shipment was free. The straight post allows a bound shop manual to be inserted. I couldn't get the manual over the little curve in the other ring style binders. The binder doesn't stay open very well at the back of the manual but it protects the manual and I can read the pages if I hold them in placeI bought this to us for all my recipes to make my own little “make-shift” cookbook. Works perfect! Helps keep things organized and easy to get to
