So excited when I receive my new cookbook. It’s beautiful and just what you would expect from Gooseberry Patch. Can wait to start copying down all of my mom’s old recipes and getting them all nice, neat, and organized.I originally bought for myself but was very small, wouldn’t hold much. Didn’t seem very sturdy for everyday use for an older cooker daily use. But, great for young beginners to start collecting recipes they like and more they learn to cook go bigger. I gifted it to my sons girlfriend and wrote a few of his favorite recipes to get her started.This is intended as a gift for my sweet daughter in law. She wanted a cook book of my old recipes. This book is going to be great for her. Not only will she have my sons favorite recipes, she can add to it with hers and her mother’s. I really like that pages can be added and the recipes are enclosed in a plastic sleeve. Also it’s more slim lined than a normal 8x10 page. A very good choice, I think. We will see........Love the idea of a family keepsake. That is why I purchased it. The binder is hardcover and recipes are kept securely in plastic sleeves so it should keep for years to come. There was a small crinkled corner in the binder itself ,like it got smashed against something. That is the only reason I gave it a 4 star. Shipping was prompt . Now i just have to get writing. Can't wait to gift it.I am putting all my Mom's recipes in it as well as mine, for my two grand children. They love to come over to dinner and always ask how to you make this. They are young, but will give to them when older, filled with their favorite recipes. These are recipes their Dad liked growing up and I want to keep the memories going. Sharing a meal and conversation during a meal, is starting to disappear and I hope this book offamily favorites will help my family keep the family traditions of breaking bread together and talking to each other alive.My only regret there is not a section for soup, I have 3 soups they ask for all the time. That is the only reason for 4 stars and not 5.I have gotten two of these books. Easy to use . My first book, I've had for years . I was so happy with the book that I ordered another one. Good deal for the priceAt last....my 20 years of collecting recipes have been put all in one place! My only critique is that the pages are a little narrow...but I managed to cut the actual recipes and spot glue them over the picture and then slide them into the sleeve. The project was a fun one. I threw out a number of duplicates or dated recipes and after paring them down, made a very attractive book. Most are cut out recipes, only a few had to be hand written. And for those I would say the amount of space to do so, worked. Oh, and yes, you should order extra sleeves.It is a present for my granddaughter’s showerThis is a really sweet book, it's small but elegant! I really love writing all of my families recipes down in one place! The paper is thick enough so ink isn't shown on the other side, and I love that you put them in a plastic protective sleeve in case you are clumsy like me and spill things!I was 1/2 finished preparing family favourites for my daughter in law and the plastic sleeve for the very thin paper to write on tore apart making the recipe fall out. The book was dented on receipt. I was very very disappointed. A week to go and I need to find a better book!!!Bought this as a gift for a family member. It was exactly as described and I also purchased some of the re-fills also offered, however it does come with plenty of inserts. Family member was very happy with it as a gift.I would have preferred the option of making some of my own categories, but otherwise it is a handy book to have. I also would have liked recipe card slots instead of just the long recipe sleeves.nice but not what i really wanted
